Shawn’s view of the west side of the Capitol on January 6, 2021
Camper trailer, Missouri – For better or worse, it appears settled. I, Shawn Bradley Witzeman, was convicted of a single Class B misdemeanor for parading/picketing at the Capitol building on January 6, 2021. As a result, I was sentenced to 7 days of intermediate confinement (whatever that means), 2 years of probation, $500 restitution payment to the Architect of the Capitol, and 60 hours of community service. Rest assured, I have learned my lessons and rehab is going well.

In that regard, let’s consider my “crimes”.

The centerpiece of the government’s sentencing memorandum is a carefully curated collection of obscenities — uttered by this loathsome, decadent journalist just hours after I left the Hill. As I was on January 6th, I am disgusted by what I saw that day. It was up to me to make my choice of the “confusing” language used to describe the facts – any way I felt necessary. I meant to trouble the listeners. All those reading these words, at this moment, had better begin to worry.
As the great Johnny Rotten once so eloquently argued:
“How are words offensive? And why should I put up with your interpretation? I am the one who uses the word. Ask me how I use it, don’t tell me. And if you don’t like the way I use it, so what? That is my right. That is my freedom of expression. Without it, we are nothing but slaves.

The crude descriptions of my choice to those ill-intentioned members of Congress were perfectly appropriate for the fucked-up situation, and I make no apologies for what I wrote. Or He said. Separate from any subjective opinion, I have stated facts that cannot be denied. It is obvious to any objective observer that most parts of the Justice Department (along with their partners in Congress and social media) maintain their monopoly on cowardice these days. These unbelievable liars are afraid of the truth. Far be it from me to transgress their area.

These hand-picked obscenities were met with pre-ordained kiss-grabbing and other fake horrors, as Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Amore said in his sordid quest to disparage my motives. According to the Honorable Judge Hogan, then Commander in Chief Donald Trump should have invoked the Sedition Act, bordering on treason, in my opinion. Indeed, in his mind, my appeal to the Capitol Police officer, “Brother, stand with us!”, probably comes close to treason.
Nothing could be further from the objective truth of the matter.
Nevertheless, I lay little blame at Judge Hogan’s feet for his woefully misinformed interpretation of reality, nor do I hold AUSA Amore entirely responsible for his malicious attack on the First Amendment. our United States Constitution. As for the “courage” of my undisputed claim that I am a journalist in complete contradiction to AUSA Amor’s explanation, this is a matter of fact. Or Judge Hogan was the “man in the arena” on January 6th. His understanding of events is excellent – thoroughly propagated through the closed-minded circle of bourgeois bullshit known as the Beltway Bubble. Without honest journalists who were actually there to record history, they, too intellectMillions of other Americans, however, are left with absolutely zero chance of correcting their seemingly willful ignorance. how BoldnessActually.

In February 2021, I was asked what the lasting legacy of January 6 would be. I pondered this question while watching the second impeachment of Donald Trump. That shameful display of congressional hypocrisy gave me a stark realization: Impeachment is not enough.
Those who conspired to cheat the American people through free and fair elections will never be satisfied with their removal from office. Indeed, after nearly two years, it is clear that many of the illegitimate occupiers of our government institutions will stop at nothing to preserve their power over a single existential threat: the objective truth.
American consciousness is their greatest enemy.

After voting “not guilty” in Donald Trump’s second impeachment, then-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell went on to pontificate from his self-proclaimed position of moral exceptionalism: “Shame on January 6. American citizens attacked their own government!” They used terrorism to try to stop a specific domestic business. , they didn’t like it!” Despite his contrived assertion, McConnell knows full well that none of what he said is true. his Words that established the foundation of an armed DOJ along with a complicated DC judiciary. This is his Words that provided political cover for an unprecedented, bipartisan attack on free expression and the wholesale criminalization of American patriotism — all in the name of “protecting democracy.”
In the months since McConnell officially brought the big lie of January 6 to life, many of us who lived that day have continued to swim against the tide of misinformation — dedicated to correcting the record — relentless in our quest for accountability and truth.
When investigating a crime, a simple question should always lead the way: “Who benefits?”. As I explained to Judge Hogan, I, or millions of others, wanted a ten-day investigation into the legal claims of fraud. Indeed, a security breakdown at the US Capitol disrupted that process – setting the stage for Congress to reconvene under political pressure – forcing certification of a fraudulent election. Dereliction of duty lies at the heart of crime. It is a violation of the public trust — a violation of constitutional principle — that threatens any effort to preserve our republic.

Despite all that has happened, one very ugly truth remains: the 2020 election was stolen from the American people.
As I prepare to serve my sentence in accordance with the law, I reflect on what I’ve learned – confusion over what purpose the government hopes to achieve. Looking at the facts related to my faith, their purpose becomes quite clear. Contrary to their claims that they are just doing justice, they try to suppress my testimony. They seek to silence dissent — they seek to destroy the Constitution — they seek to subvert the power of the people and subject future generations to unwarranted tyranny. Perhaps they made this decision without any understanding of who I am or what lengths I am willing to go to protect my children’s future. Maybe I didn’t make myself clear.

So… I guess I should clarify further.
In the past two years, I have lost everything, including long-term relationships with both friends and family. As my businesses went bankrupt, I struggled to pay legal expenses and put food on the table. I was forced to sell my house and I now live in a camper trailer. Each passing week brings moments of dread as I scrape together enough money to make my phone and truck payments. The mountain of debt gets bigger on each attempt. This sentence and the associated probationary requirements interfere with my entrepreneurial livelihood. They threaten to make me destitute and broken — beaten down and oppressed — unable to speak or pursue my career.
But make no mistake: I remain steadfast in my purpose.
I will continue to fight to tell the truth, regardless of the personal cost. Resisting any further harassment, I will not yield to the illegal tyranny of taking away my voice. Although I may bend in this storm that engulfs me, I will remain level and steady in my path. I am ready and willing to sacrifice my life on the altar of freedom – in many ways, I have already done so.
To those who wish to silence me in order to further propagate their lies, I advise them to forsake happiness and shoot me in the head. Hell…you can make it two.
Short of death, I’ll never shut up.
Simply put: seven days is not enough.
