The 26-year-old made a big move to Freiburg from St. Pauli last summer and has already scored two goals for the Bundesliga side.
Speaking to Pulse.com.gh in an exclusive interview, the midfielder opened up about what his childhood was like.
He explained that although he loved playing basketball as a child, football was always his passion.
He named Neymar as his childhood idol, insisting he idolized the PSG superstar and often took to YouTube to learn his style of play.
“This is Neymar Junior,” Kaireh replied when asked about his all-time favorite footballer. “I saw him for the first time when he played for Santos at his first club in Brazil, he was 16 and I was 12 at the time.
“And what I loved about him was the style and enjoyment of watching him play. Since then I always checked YouTube for videos of new skills playing football. I would get my ball and meet with friends or alone to learn the dribbling skills he did in the videos.
“No one knew him then, now I have told my best friends about him and now watching his career is an inspiration. At the same time I am building my own career step by step to follow his career and achieve the same goals.
Kaireh appeared as a substitute in all three matches as Ghana exited the Qatar 2022 World Cup in the group stages.
