As Biden gets his annual physical, ex-Obama doctor says he’s worried: ‘Young is not 80’

President Biden went to Walter Reed for his annual physical on Thursday, and Barack Obama’s former doctor says he’s “concerned” about his age and other ailments.

The test is usually a physical assessment of the patient, although Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has called for “mental fitness tests” for politicians over 75.

Honestly, there are probably several members of Congress that age who would struggle with such a test. But I digress.

Dr. David Scheiner, in an interview with the Washington Examiner, expressed several concerns regarding Biden’s overall health.

“I don’t care if he’s in perfect health now — I can’t believe he’s in perfect health,” said Scheiner, who was Obama’s personal physician for 20 years. “He has a lot of things in his past.”

Doctors pointed to Biden’s past vascular and atrial fibrillation problems and mentioned the president’s noticeably deteriorating gait.

“I’m worried he’s getting old. If I look at him, he’s not 80 years old,” said Scheiner.

Obama Doctor: Expect Biden to Physically ‘Sugar Coat’ Things

Whatever Dr. Biden’s doctors find in his physical, he expects them to explain the details. Shiner suggested.

“You’re not going to learn anything. They sugar coat these things,” he told the Examiner.

He recommended that the White House undergo a neurological exam or at least have an MRI completed as part of the physical.

“One thing they don’t check is the mental alertness test,” he said. “I don’t think any candidate wants that. They’re afraid they might find something.

People are concerned

Speaking at a rally in Charleston, South Carolina, Nikki Haley reiterated her call for cognitive tests for older politicians, a dig at Biden as he attends his physical and Trump.

“I see in America, the eternal politician finally retires,” Haley told his cheering supporters. “We will have term limits for Congress and mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75.”

Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson (R), a former White House physician, has been calling for a cognitive test for Biden for years.

“Majority of Americans think Biden is cognitively impaired,” Jackson tweeted. “They should get a cognitive test along with a physical today and they should release the full results. We need to know!”

A Harvard Capps Harris poll conducted in January indicated that 59% of Americans “have doubts about his (Biden’s) fitness” but only 41% believe the president is mentally fit to serve in the White House.

It’s not just Republicans. Some senior Democrats see Biden as “too old” to run in 2024, the Daily Mail reported.

A Harvard Capps Harris poll shows that 65% of respondents think the president is “showing he is too old to be president.”

Biden was 90 – 86 years old at the end of his second term.
