Cindy Williams, the actress who played Shirley Feeney in the hit 1970s sitcom Laverne and Shirley, has died at the age of 75.
Williams, alongside Penny Marshall as Laverne DeFazio, enjoyed an incredibly successful run on the show, in which two Milwaukee brewery workers get into all sorts of crazy situations.
The two were known for their incredible feats of physical comedy. Penny Marshall passed away in 2018.

‘Laverne and Shirley’ actor Cindy Williams dies at 75
Cindy Williams, one of America’s most recognizable stars in the 1970s and ’80s, has died for her role as Shirley opposite Penny Marshall’s Laverne on the beloved sitcom “Laverne and Shirley,” her family said Monday.
Williams died Wednesday at the age of 75 in Los Angeles after a brief illness, his children, Zach and Emily Hudson, said in a statement released through family spokeswoman Liza Kranis.
“The passing of our kind, cheerful mother, Cindy Williams, has brought us an overwhelming sadness that can never be expressed,” the statement said. “It was our joy and privilege to know and love her. She was kind, beautiful, generous and had a wonderful sense of humor and a sparkling spirit that everyone loved.
Williams worked with some of Hollywood’s elite directors during a film career that preceded his full-time move to television, appearing in George Cukor’s 1972 “Travels With My Aunt,” George Lucas’ 1973 “American Graffiti” and Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation.” From 1974 onward.
But she was best known for the “Happy Days” spinoff “Laverne and Shirley,” which aired on ABC from 1976 to 1983 and became one of its most popular shows on primetime TV.
