The Volunteer Experience Manager's primary accountability is to achieve girl and adult membership goals by implementing appropriate retention strategies. They are the primary support to the volunteers in their assigned communities and regions. This includes analyzing data related to their assigned areas, setting strategy to achieve goals, attending volunteer meetings, developing and implementing a robust mentoring program and assisting in conflict resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.
- Achieve girl and adult membership goals by implementing appropriate retention strategies.
- Analyze membership trends and other available information to in order to plan, develop, promote and implement a comprehensive strategy to develop and retain adult members/volunteers and girl members in assigned area for troop, community, region and council wide programming.
- Accountable for new troop leader success which may include visits to support new troops, provide resources and capture their needs, and provide expertise in all GSLE programming such as the Volunteer Toolkit.
- Ensure the delivery of role-specific learning opportunities and resources that are delivered in multiple ways that are continuous, fun, and adaptable to different volunteer styles and are effective at preparing volunteers for their roles.
- Develop and execute a written plan for assigned areas to meet council goals and objectives related to retention, training, recognition and support of adult volunteers /members.
- Support volunteers in planning and implementing comprehensive council wide volunteer experience strategies.
- Ensure administrative volunteers adhere to the nomination, vetting, appointment, and onboarding of new volunteers as well as termination of volunteers when necessary, in assigned geography.
- Provide support to Mission Delivery teams for problem solving and conflict resolution involving girls and adults in the community and region. Support the recruitment and placement of girls and volunteers across the Mission Delivery Team.
- Assist with the development of budgets and monitoring of cost centers as needed.
- Support assigned geographic areas and special assignment teams by ensuring high quality marketing and communication of activities and programs through Council resources such as but not limited to the Golden Link, council website, newsletters, resources site, etc. and external community resources as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents; Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints; Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style; Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
- The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
- Ability to work from home, as needed, to include high speed home internet access, accessibility to a non-distracting and uninterrupted space with adequate lighting and ergonomically adequate workspace.
- Valid Texas drivers license and proof of insurance.
