Two siblings, a boy and a girl met their untimely deaths when lightning struck Apa Junction, a suburb of Begoro in the Fontequa North District of the Eastern Region.
The incident took place during heavy rain in the area on Saturday evening, the victims identified as Selorm Bona, 14 and Vivian Adowi, 16, were walking under the rain to pick some mangoes at their home.
The deceased, the brother and sister, were walking in the rain when the thunder struck, said Beneh Bennett, assemblyman for Abes Electoral Area, who confirmed the incident to DGN Online.
As a result, the boy was reported dead on the spot, and the girl was rushed to Begoro District Hospital by neighbors, but she died on arrival.
The dead bodies have been kept in the hospital mortuary for preservation.
