A woman in her 40s was gang-raped by 5 Fulani herdsmen in a bush in Gomoa Ojobi, Central Region early Sunday morning.
Information gathered by Kasapa News, Yaw Bogyan revealed that the suspect, armed with a gun, cutlass and other weapons, barged into the home of the victim, a Fulani woman and her husband, and assaulted them.
They tied the husband with a rope, bandaged his mouth to stop him from shouting, dragged his wife to the nearby bush and raped her.
They did not consider the victim who is a Fulani and had sex with her by threatening to kill her if she dared to cry for help.
After pacification, they tied her with a rope and left her in the bush to be searched and brought home by the residents.
According to the victim’s husband, the suspects stole ten of his cows after the rape and assault but luckily could not carry them away.
The suspects put the cows into a Sprinter bus with registration number GG-2766-21, but before they could move, the shouts of the owner drew some residents to their house to support them.
The suspects were leaving the cattle in the bus when they saw armed residents approaching them.
Enraged, the residents vandalized and burnt the vehicle.
The victim is receiving treatment at the hospital and the case has been reported to the Gomowa Ojobi police for investigation.
