In line with its commitment to promote domestic tourism in Ghana, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has re-launched the ‘Experience Ghana, Share Ghana’ campaign to promote domestic tourism in Kwahu in the Eastern Region. The campaign was undertaken under the Ghana Tourism Development Plan (GTDP) under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
The campaign, which aims to boost domestic and regional tourism, is tied to the 2023 Kwahu Paragliding Festival, offering patrons a four-day exhilarating, fun flying experience over Mount Odwenoma in Atibi-Kwahu.
Speaking at the brief opening ceremony of the 15th National Paragliding Festival, GTA CEO, Akwasi Agyeman, said the initiative was launched a few years ago to boost tourism by giving new focus to both domestic and visits from the West African region.
“We are using this occasion to promote the ‘Experience Ghana, Share Ghana’ campaign. As we know, we have been very aggressive on our domestic tourism promotion for the past few years. We are launching the ‘Experience Ghana, Share Ghana’ campaign to start the process.
“As part of this year’s festival, we have joined some cyclists to climb the mountain. We have also included other exciting activities like hiking, camping for those who want to spend the night on the mountain, bonfire dinner and dance competition, tourists can paraglide, hike to showcase Mount Odwenoma as its own unique tourist attraction. , has programs to promote bike, camping, and domestic tourism”, he noted.
Mr Agyeman said another paragliding event called ‘Corporate Paragliding’ will be held in Kwahu in September this year as part of GTA’s 50th anniversary activities. He paid tribute to the visionaries of the paragliding festival and commended the Kwahu chiefs and people, the GTA team especially the Eastern Regional team and all the stakeholders of the event for their support.
On his part, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Mark Okraku-Monte said Kwahu paragliding plays an important role in Ghana’s domestic and international tourism.
“This event is very important to the Ministry of Tourism, the Government of Ghana and the people of Kwahu for its contribution to the Kwahu Easter celebration. It plays an important role in Ghana’s domestic and international tourism. In 2020, the GTA aims to make Ghana the number 1 tourism destination in West Africa by 2026, but by 2022 We first emerged due to the workable decision of the Government in the Ministry of Tourism in .

A cultural policy is in the making, the All-Africa Games are coming to Ghana next year and the President of the Republic is coming to Kwahu to launch the Abetifi Stone Age Park. He revealed that the tourism ministry is here to work to push domestic tourism and make it the number one contributor to GDP and I believe we can do it.
