In his latest foray into bodybuilding, Hall took tips from the all-time greats.
If anyone ever doubted Eddie Hall’s earnest commitment to trying out bodybuilding, the strongman legend continues to show that he’s dead serious. On March 5, 2023, Hall posted a video to his YouTube channel There he was four times Mr.. The routine will be seen as part of a series of sessions with established bodybuilders as Hall works out for the first time in 2024.
Hall’s previous bodybuilding-esque back routine included plenty of pulldowns and rows by himself and Jamie “The Giant” Christian, the athlete and Cutler in 2023.
Here is a short overview of the entire exercise in order of motion. (Note: The pair did not divulge the exact number of sets and repetitions.) Cutler often emphasized the conditioning benefits of strict rest periods of 45 to 60 seconds between sets.

Among the more notable tips Cutler fed Hall was about building mass and working out one’s back during lat pulldowns. The bodybuilding icon had a lot to say about proper form as the 2017 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) worked through his set.
A common idea in bodybuilding is to contract the muscles to the point of challenge.
“I know this weight isn’t too heavy but we’re going to work on compression,” Cutler told Hall. “So, when you come down, I want you to be kind of … This simulates a back double biceps, right? So, you’re going to squeeze, you know? Get that fire in the lats. So, make sure you get the contraction and don’t pull the weight.
Cutler really wants to emphasize a quality lat pulldown for Hall. After all, it was one of the keys to his successful career on stage.
“I had a wide waist, so I had to compensate. I had to build the biggest lats possible,” Cutler explained to Hall. “So, you always want to create that taper in bodybuilding, right? Because I’m a little wide-waisted, the lats really flared out. So I really pulled down.” Focused on movements.
As for how Cutler characterized Hall’s work ethic, he was very complimentary, while the strongman/aspiring bodybuilder did his one-arm bent-over dumbbell rows.
“He is [Hall] Definitely the hardest worker in the room. That’s for sure. “
Hall’s workout with Cutler aside, he certainly isn’t slowing down his bodybuilding ambitions. At least, according to his YouTube channel. Over the past few weeks, the athlete has posted videos of himself doing portions of bodybuilding training, working out with Christian and Cutler and the mighty Larry Wheels.
At this rate, one fact seems abundantly clear – Hall can get extra bodybuilding knowledge from anywhere. And they’re getting it from some very well-credentialed sources.
