The people have spoken, and Curry Lake appears to be the most popular candidate for the GOP vice presidency in 2024, according to last week’s official Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
The former Arizona gubernatorial candidate won 20% of the vote in a field of 30 potential candidates listed. On the list, Lake topped former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley with 10%, as well as popular Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with 14%.
Haley is currently running for the Republican presidential nomination, but DeSantis is rumored to announce his own presidential campaign at any moment. Both floated their names as VP contenders.
Other big names who received low percentages of votes in straw polls include former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, businessman and current presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Senator Ted Cruz and former Vice President Mike Pence.
Lake’s Twitter account responded to the favorable results, saying, “We are flattered, but unfortunately our legal team says the Constitution does not allow her to serve as Governor and VP.” The statement refers to Lake’s ongoing legal battle to contest the results of the controversial 2022 gubernatorial race in Arizona, which he believes he legally won due to alleged voter fraud.
As for who conservatives want to see at the top of the ticket in 2024, former President Donald Trump won big with 62% of the vote, with DeSantis getting 20%.

Not backing down
As of last week, Lake’s legal battle over his lawsuit alleging election tampering in the 2022 gubernatorial election will now be seen before the Arizona Supreme Court.
Lake’s legal team filed a “Motion to Expedite” his case, saying “expedited action to resolve these issues is necessary to protect Arizona voters’ right to free and fair elections.”
In February, an appeals court ruled that Arizona voters could have cast their ballots at the time the alleged tampering occurred and that those votes were counted properly.
The ruling at the time said “Lake contends that the superior court erred by dismissing his claims asserting equal protection and due process violations. However, her arguments fail because these claims are clearly predicated on an allegation of official misconduct in the form of interference with on-site tabulators — the same alleged misconduct as in Lake’s printer/tabulator claim.”
“Because these claims duplicate Lake’s failed claim at trial, the superior court did not err in dismissing them. For the foregoing reasons, we affirm the superior court’s judgment affirming Hobb’s election as governor. We deny Hobbs’ request for an award of attorney’s fees on appeal because he offered no basis for the award,” he said. The Court of Appeal added.
“The evidence ultimately supports a conclusion that the electors were able to cast their ballots, that the votes were properly counted, and that no other basis would justify the election results.”
The moment Olivia and Chloe meet @carlylake People always ask what Curry is like in person. I tell them she’s real! That’s one reason her supporters love her, and one reason the left hates her, because they’re all fake and she’s so real!… https://t.co/W6OA60hnDE pic.twitter.com/LHOR18Bozr

Senator Curry Lake?
Despite all indications she is sticking with her efforts to legally find a way to nullify the results of the gubernatorial election, Lake said she is also considering a run for the U.S. Senate.
According to this The Washington Post Speaking to someone close to Sarovar last week, he said he is considering announcing whether he will enter the race in June this year.
Currently, he leads all potential GOP candidates for the seat and has the highest favorability ratings among Arizona Republicans.
In an interview last month, Lake targeted her potential campaign, incumbent Democratic Senator Kirsten Sinema.
“She’s the farthest thing from being independent,” Lake said. “Someone somewhere said she did a couple of brave things, well, she has to do brave things here every day. If you are blessed to be elected by the people, when you appear in Washington, DC, you must do courageous deeds every day.
Do you think Lake should run for Senate, continue his legal battle, or flirt with the idea of finally courting the possibility of the GOP nominee being elected VP? Let us know in the comments below.
