All roads lead to the Volta Regional Youth Resource Center at Adaklu-Tsrefe near Ho on Monday for the 66th Independence Day celebrations.
The theme of the grand occasion was: “Our unity, our strength, our destiny”.
Regional Minister Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, who has been inspecting the venue every week, said everything was prepared for the celebration.
He expressed satisfaction with the work done and said “Volta region is ready”.
The Youth Resource Center has now become a tourist attraction with many members of the public visiting the site to view the facility.

More than 5,000 people from different parts of the nation are expected to attend the anniversary, which will be graced by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoko Mbalo, who is the chairman of the Economic Community of West Africa (ECOWAS), was the special guest at the celebration, which included exciting cultural performances and a colorful parade, military exercises and demonstrations. For example rappelling, acrobatics and display of various skills and abilities.
Dr Letsa said that 80 members of the diplomatic corps will also participate in the celebrations.

Anniversary walk in progress at Ho-Ahoe
The parade will feature 64 officers and 1,042 men from various security agencies, drawn from seven senior high schools (SHS) and basic schools from Ho Municipality and Adakallu District and voluntary organizations.
Until last Thursday, the road between Adaklu District and Ho was decorated with Ghanaian flags, hanging on utility poles; The main streets of Ho and some communities were in Adaklu.
Meanwhile, Ho’s streets are clean after a series of clean-ups, with some workplaces and pubs decorating their premises in the colors of the national flag.

The Daily Graphic gathered that the hospitality industry is cashing in on the countdown to the celebration as rooms are sold out by March 6.
For example, at Volta Serene Hotel, one of the region’s ace hotels, a manager told Daily Graphic that 60 percent of the 300 rooms are booked.
At Sky Plus Hotel, a luxury hotel offering beautiful views of Ho, all 100 rooms have been booked for the anniversary.

The Independence Day fever is spreading fast with heavy armored vehicles and extraordinary presence of armed personnel of various security agencies.
For the past few days, early jogging sessions by various groups have become a common feature of the regional capital.
Apart from the national colors dominating Ho and Adaklu, portraits of important dignitaries are prominent on some of the main roads.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has installed 2,500 street lights in Ho Municipality to illuminate the streets of Ho and the road towards Adaklu-Tsrefe to improve security especially at night.
ECG also replaced faulty street lights in the regional capital and installed new lights on other major roads in and around the municipality.
ECG Regional Manager Emmanuel Lumar assured that there will be no interruption in power supply throughout the celebration.
The Asogli Head of State has assured the visitors of a most cordial and unforgettable welcome.
On her part, Adaklu District Chief Executive, Juliana Kepedekpo said, “We are ready to host the whole of Ghana in Adaklu for the celebration.”
The 66th Independence Day coincides with the 66th birthday of the Regional Minister and Agbogbomefia of Asogli, Togbe Afede XIV, while the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho is responsible for spearheading preparations for the March Pass.
The regiment has assured the public that it has deployed men “on the strength” to take charge of security during the celebrations.
Some food joints have set up stands opposite the Regional Youth Resource Center in hopes of brisk business during the celebration.
Regional Environmental Health Officer Stella Kumedzro told the Daily Graphic that food vendors who have not been medically examined and issued with health certificates will be denied entry to the venue.
He said that this measure has been taken to prevent infectious diseases.
In practice the Heads of High Powers of the region are also expected.
Taxi drivers William Dogbe and Anthony Ahiagba said they had serviced their vehicles earlier in the day in anticipation of good business on the day.
