Attorney General Thursday afternoon Andrew Bailey Kim petitioned Gardner to remove him from office after he refused to resign.
St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner later held her own press conference Thursday. Her supporters were in the audience and cheered her work as circuit attorney. It was a completely staged production for Gardner.
St. Louis has the highest homicide rate in the world.
Kim Gardner blamed the judge for not revoking Riley’s bond on three separate occasions in December 2021, August 2022, and most recently in January 2023, alleging that he ignored or denied her requests.
And then she played the race card like she always does.
A local FOX reporter confronted Gardner on questionable claims that he contacted the courts about Riley.
FOX 2 reporter Chris Hayes asked Gardner if his office had any records of revoking Riley’s bond. Gardner responded that the motion to revoke the bond may be made orally or in writing. Her office made several verbal requests to revoke Riley’s bond.
However, according to the Missouri Courts Municipal Clerk Manual, the judge notes such a request on the docket sheet.
Update: KMOV found no records of Gardner telling the judge to revoke Riley’s bond.
Gardner said her office tried three times to revoke Riley’s bond. Gardner did not show evidence of his office moves. She said one of the times she objected to Riley’s bond was during a hearing on Aug. 10, 2022.
The News 4 Investigators reviewed court transcripts from that hearing, which show prosecutors agreed to keep Riley on bond with a GPS tracker. No objections from prosecutors were noted in the court transcript.
“Anytime there’s any kind of motion to withdraw, I insist that the court reporter do some kind of paperwork to take it down,” explained Mark Hammer, a St. Louis defense attorney who worked as an assistant. Trial attorney in Washington and Minnesota before moving to St. Louis.
News 4 Investigators reviewed St. Louis Circuit Court bond records. The latest records are available from December 2022 and show that in six months, 373 people who were arrested and awaiting trial were released on bond. That’s more than 292 people in prison during the same period.
Gardner has a record of lying to the public and has even lied under oath.
Gardner lied about the case against Governor Eric Greitens, committed more than 60 misdemeanors in the case, and got away with it.
Kim Gardner is a danger to society. Pray that the state removes her from office before more people are killed and lives destroyed.
