Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) reminded ABC’s Martha Raddatz that one of the biggest differences between Biden and Trump is that Trump thought he was above the law and had the DOJ get a warrant to search his home and recover stolen classified documents.

“There’s an important document that separates ex-Pres. Trump from Pres. Biden—that’s a warrant,” Sen. Chris Koons says @MarthaRaddatz.
“It required an FBI search, a warrant-driven search without consent to obtain records from Mar-a-Lago.” https://t.co/DsKgQazxDJ pic.twitter.com/SqOAjCEB78

Raddatz: But how do you say they’re going to take classified material seriously when there’s some found, they’ve had in their house for over a decade and they had no idea?
COONS: The key point there, Martha, was that he had no idea. As you know, if you serve in the Senate or as vice president, you literally get millions of documents going through your office week in and week out. And as you get more senior and the things you handle become more important and occasionally more classified, the volume increases.
So, I think it was inadvertent. The whole point of having a special counsel is to insure it and give the American people confidence.
But, frankly, Martha, I don’t think this is a problem that keeps Americans up at night. I think they’re more worried about day-to-day things like inflation, prices at the pump, prescription drug prices. Our president is making real progress in our economy, our place in the world, lowering drug prices and helping the average American family.
And since they are fully cooperating, I have some confidence that we will get to the bottom of this. And there is one important document that separates former President Trump from President Biden, and that is the warrant. It required an FBI search, a warrant-driven search without consent to obtain records from Mar-a-Lago, and former President Trump continues to insist that he is above the law, with the right to take any records he chooses. Democrats have a point when they argue that the American people don’t care about documents found in Biden’s home. Would the American people care if Trump hadn’t lied about having classified documents, forced the DOJ to get a warrant to search his home, and potentially committed a crime in the process?
If Trump had said oh, I should have these, here you go, the story would never have exploded.
The special counsel is likely to conclude that Biden did not commit a crime, and the corporate-owned mainstream press will never mention Biden and the classified documents again.
