According to reports, Lepowura was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Center before being flown to the United States of America last week for further treatment, where he died.
A Twitter post shared by football’s governing body, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) stated the sad demise of the veteran.
“We are saddened by the news of the death of Lepowura MND Javula. Alhaji was the President of GFA during 1997-2001. He also presided @MTNFACupGH & was the President of @GhanaLeague Organizing Committee till his death. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew him. The late sports enthusiast was the GFA President between 1997 and 2001.

Javula was the Chairman of the Premier League Management Committee (PLMC) and also served as Lepowura of Kujolobito Gate, Lepo-Kpembe, Northern Territory.
