Republican Representative Maria Salazar, speaking on a panel at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, said the US needs to “respect” the roughly “13 (to) 15 million” illegal immigrants.
Salazar, a Republican who represents the largely Hispanic population of Florida’s 27th Congressional District, insists that the United States “has its hands full” in maintaining its status as a world power.
She urged her colleagues to pass a “complete overhaul of the immigration system.”
“Because as the senator says, not only do we need those hands, but we need to give dignity to the people who are in the country,” maintains Salazar.
In the past, Salazar has introduced legislation to provide such “dignity,” which in many cases means permanent resident status for illegal aliens.

Maria Salazar wants illegal immigrants to be ‘respected’
Maria Salazar went on to give a rough estimate of the number of illegal immigrants who should be given “dignity,” among some Democrat talking points — that they are “contributing to the economy” but “forced to live in the shadows.” “

“They are the people I represent. We are talking about 13.15 million people, most of them, Hispanics, I would say 85%, who speak my language, look like me and sound like me, are contributing to the economy of this country,” he said. He said.
(In fact, she represents Citizens Florida’s 27th.)
“And they live in the shadows. So it’s time to close the border… and then turn around and give dignity.”
Do you know what your dignity is? – Legally Immigration and compliance with the law.
And although she didn’t explain what she meant, she has argued in the past that “amnesty” doesn’t mean anything.
“That doesn’t mean it’s a path to citizenship, it’s about including them and making them respected members of our community,” he insists. Is that so?
I think they are born with it, but they can have more dignity in their homeland or go back and follow the process as thousands have. Law and order must be restored.

Tucker Carlson takes her to task
Maria Salazar had a heated confrontation with Fox News host Tucker Carlson last March on two fronts – his support for a no-fly zone in Ukraine, effectively launching the US into war with Russia, and the accusation that he wanted ‘amnesty’. Illegal aliens.
Salazar enthusiastically supported the no-fly zone, though she admitted she had “no clue what that meant.”
“I don’t know what that means, but you know, freedom is not free,” Salazar told reporters.
The reporter continued, “So you don’t know what a no fly zone means to shoot down Russian planes, that is…”
“Of course,” she replied.

Her comments at the time were reckless. Any reasonable person would realize that such actions lead to war. And Carlson called her.
“So what should we do?” Salazar asked.
Carlson replied: “Whenever and everywhere, especially the US government or one of its elected representatives, acts on behalf of the vital interests of the United States government, it’s really that simple.”

The debate turned to Carlson’s accusation that he supports amnesty for illegal immigrants based on legislation known as the “Dignity Act.”
“The Dignity Act that I introduced last month is immigration reform legislation, probably the first that the GOP has introduced in a long time,” he said. “It is the strongest border security measure in the history of the United States Congress.”
“Okay, got it,” interrupted Carlson. “But it provides amnesty for tens of millions of people.”
What Salazar is doing is a shell game. She doesn’t call for “amnesty,” but instead her bill has a series of programs that would grant illegal aliens “permanent resident status” or “deferral” deportation for others.
but instead only confers permanent legal status citizenship, Salazar can play his word games about opposing “amnesty”.

Salazar’s alternative calls for dignity or, as Tucker claimed, amnesty, led the Fox News host to accuse her of being Ukraine First.
“You are applying a different standard to Ukraine,” he said. “Because you believe in Ukrainian nationalism, not Americans.”

Salazar declined to say whether he would support the military to protect the southern border, even as he called on the US to shoot down Russian planes to protect Ukraine from invasion.
American citizens and legal immigrants, Ms. What about Salazar? What about their right to dignity? His right to be rewarded for actually obeying the law? Employment and income their right? Their right to safety from lawbreakers?
