Green and Gosar were stripped of all committee assignments in 2021 over their political views.
The House Oversight Committee is expected to launch high-profile investigations into Joe Biden and his administration in the new session.
“Investigations from the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic and allegations of politicization at the Justice Department to America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan will dominate the new Congress,” NBC News reported. “But none will draw attention like the GOP’s planned investigation into the business dealings of the president’s son, Hunter, two years before a potential Biden re-election bid.”

The report continued, “Rep. Incoming House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said an investigation into Hunter Biden and other Biden family members and associates will be a priority. Republicans said they were trying to determine whether the family’s business activities “compromise US national security and President Biden.” Ability to lead impartially.
“Hunter and other members of the Biden family have a pattern of high-level government access to enrich themselves,” Comer said in a statement. “The American people deserve to know whether the president’s connections to his family’s business dealings have come at the expense of American interests and whether they represent a national security threat.”

Gosar was assigned to the Natural Resources Committee, where he served before being removed from his assignments, and Greene will serve on the Homeland Security Committee.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has repeatedly vowed to remove Democratic representatives Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell and Ilhan Omar from their committee assignments.
