Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot lost her re-election bid on Tuesday and blamed a historic defeat on the only thing she knows – racism.
Lightfoot became the first Chicago mayor in 40 years to lose re-election, failing to make a runoff as he finished third with just 17.1% of the vote.
Instead of engaging in introspection, self-analysis and a little soul-searching, they blamed apartheid for the loss.
During her concession speech, Lightfoot praised her record on crime despite a steady increase in oversight and even though it was considered a significant factor in her defeat.
A reporter harassed her by asking if she had been treated unfairly because of her race and gender.
“I’m a black woman in America,” she replied. “Of course.”

The loss of Lori Lightfoot was not due to racism
Interestingly enough – and Lori Lightfoot may not be aware of this – but in 2019 she became the ‘Black Woman in America’ when she became the first openly lesbian Black woman to serve as mayor of a major city in the United States.
So the same people who were open-minded to welcoming her as mayor of Chicago four years ago are suddenly racist again.
There’s Lightfoot’s world, and then there’s reality.
CNN also suggests that growing “crime concerns” contributed to her death.
“Concerns about crime and public safety have gripped Chicago,” writes CNN. “Violence in the city increased in 2020 and 2021.”

Who is the real racist in this equation?
But America not A racist against black women, Lightfoot was known for some racially charged rhetoric and actions.
Just last week, Lightfoot channeled President Biden and told black voters that if they don’t support her, they might as well not vote.
“If you want them to control your fate and your destiny, stay home,” he told supporters of other candidates. “Then don’t vote.”

In 2021, Lightfoot offered interviews “only to black or brown journalists” on the two-year anniversary of its inauguration.
White reporters were barred from speaking with the mayor that day.

Fox News anchor Kylee McEnany jabbed at Lightfoot and recalled the mayor’s comments calling her ‘Karen’ while working as Donald Trump’s press secretary.
“Hey, Karen. Watch your mouth after calling McEnany the “desolate mayor of Chicago” at a press conference in 2020,” Lightfoot said.
“Lori Lightfoot lost her election,” McEnany tweeted Tuesday.
“Perhaps she should have woken up when I referred to her as the “desolate mayor of Chicago” from the White House podium for ignoring the victims of crime in her city! Instead, she said, “Hey, Karen. Take care of your mouth. “

In a segment with Fox News host Sean Hannity, McEnany quipped: “Karen Here, you’re a loser.”
She did. And it has nothing to do with her being a black woman in America.
