MSNBC’s Joy Reid recently claimed on her show that the president-elect, Ron DeSantis, is ‘more authoritarian’ than Trump. It is as predictable as the rising sun.
First, Trump is not a dictator. Second, neither is DeSantis.
Joy Reid is gearing up for a possible DeSantis run for president. This is the liberal media narrative.
From Newsbusters:
Joy Reid: DeSantis is more authoritarian than Trump, hates civil rights
On MSNBC’s The Readout, host Joy Reid once again had a meltdown against Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. DeSantis proves how terrified the left is of being the Republican nominee. According to Reid, DeSantis is “a more dynamically authoritarian version of Trump” and wants to return to “pre-Civil Rights America.”
“If Florida Governor Ron DeSantis becomes president of the United States, as he clearly aims to do, America will become a land of total government control over women’s bodies, black history, gender identity, how you can,” Reid began his show. Teach, learn, read, think, talk! “
“It’s basically a more functionally authoritarian version of Trump, a more orderly, less personable president basically offering two options. Pre-civil rights America, or total control of society,” Reid huffed.
Then she got to the real reason to bring up DeSantis, who is out with a brand new book this week. This gave Reed a chance to scoff at the title.
“[H]The new book is titled, and I’m not making this up, “The Courage to Break Free,” a first-hand account from a blue-collar boy who dreams of taking down Disney and librarians,” Reed said with a smug smile.

Reid has nothing to lose here. If Trump is the GOP nominee, she’ll go after him like she always does. If DeSantis is nominated, he will continue to claim that he is somehow ‘worse’ than Trump.
It’s all so predictable.
