This comes after Appiah had earlier said he was open to returning to the Black Stars as head coach.
The 62-year-old already has two caps with the national team, having first led Ghana to the World Cup in Brazil from 2012 to 2014.
Appiah was reappointed as Black Stars coach in 2017, taking over from Israeli manager Avram Grant.
However, his tenure ended on December 31, 2019 after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) denied him the opportunity to renew it.
Although he serves as a coach at the Kenpong Football Academy, he has never managed any professional team.
Meanwhile, last week, the GFA indicated that more than 60 coaches had applied for the Black Stars job.
GFA’s Director of Communications, Henry Asante Twome, said most of the applicants were from Europe and South America.
Ghana are without a coach after Otto Addo stepped down following the team’s group-stage exit from the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
