Vice President Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia cuts the sod for the construction of the Liberty Assemblies of God Hospital in Akwetaiman, Accra on February 12, 2023.
The construction of the 50-bed community hospital commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Liberty Assemblies of God Church.
Vice President Dr. gave financial assistance and 500 bags of cement to the church to start the construction of the hospital. Bawumia, congratulated the congregation on its 50th anniversary and expressed his happiness to join them for the groundbreaking ceremony he described. “The Manifestation of God’s Goodness”.
“It’s really a pleasure and a privilege to be here,” Dr. A.S. Bawumia said.
“Liberty Assemblies of God Church is 50 years old this year and I was very privileged to be with you that day as we celebrated the 50th anniversary. And the theme: ‘Declaring God’s Goodness.’
“This (mowing the grass) is an expression of that. We are here today because we are seeing the goodness of God.”
“To thank God for 50 years, the Church has decided to build a 50-bed hospital for the Akwetiman community”, he added.
Dr. Bawumia offered his support to the church, reiterating his commitment towards the project.
“I am very happy and honored to be a part of it and I want to assure Reverend and I will participate in the construction of this beautiful building”, He said.
“We want to see it completed in two years by the grace of God so I am one of you as we go through this project and we will see its completion by the grace of God.”
“I want to thank all of you, especially Reverend, for making me a part of Liberty and an honorary member. God bless this building and God bless all the people who are working on it.”
Church thanks Dr. Bawumia for support
The church thanked the Vice President for his kind gesture and commitment to the implementation of the project.
“First of all, we would like to thank you for honoring our invitation to attend our 50th anniversary in this local church. We appreciate the fact that you have made a giant contribution to the project we intend to undertake”, The head priest said.
“Mr. Vice President, after that, your 500 bags of cement have been received and we are grateful again. When we told you that the project was about to start in your last visit to your home, you rightly requested that you would like it. The grass cutting part. I was personally excited to hear that and you are in the project that we are undertaking. I am glad to know that you are keenly interested. We appreciate it”, added the head priest.
