2022 Mr. After a disappointing seventh-place finish at the Olympia, Hunter Labrada appears to be in a state of clear reflection. In mid-January 2023, the elite bodybuilder revealed that he was so upset with his recent Olympia results that he was taking a temporary social media blackout to avoid negative commentary on his performance. At the same time, he vowed to rebound as best he can, revealing some of his plans to help him along the way.

On February 8, 2023, Labrada posted a testimonial to his YouTube channel where he broke down some of his upcoming projects. Within it, he revealed that he no longer strictly targets size in his training. Instead, An athlete wants to “shrink his waistline.” In the competition year of 2023, he will focus on other details of his body.

    More from Breaking Muscle:

Aside from tightening his waistline, Labrada was candid about all of his new goals. He wants to hit the ground running with his off-season, and he wants better digestion and a bigger back in the process.

A world of possibilities can open up for a bodybuilder when they don’t follow an absolute size.

“Everything has to be thick, but that’s the main area [his back] Focus,” Labrada said. “Plus, I’m definitely putting a lot of emphasis on this — it’s going to be my first off-season where everything is pretty big. I don’t need to chase size to the point where I’m hanging over the kitchen sink sick because of how full I am throughout the day. This off-season we are going to put a lot of emphasis on eating more whole foods and supplementing in a way that we can really optimize my digestion and reduce my waistline.

Otherwise, as for specific ways to improve his physique, Labrada didn’t go into much detail. However, he maintains that he specifically focuses on buffing his abs with vacuum poses — where the athlete contracts their abs to target the deeper muscles. It’s a thought process that apparently started after his recent Olympia result.

“I’m going to continue training abs like I have been,” Labrada began. “It’s something [vacuum poses] I started doing it after Olympia. I have already noticed that it has made a huge difference…I have been doing them every morning and in a month it has already made a huge difference. So I will continue to beat that drum and check all the boxes every day and I will do what is within my control. At the end of the day, that’s all we can do.

    More from Breaking Muscle:

In order to achieve his desired liberation, especially if he is 2023 Mr. To qualify for Olympia, Labrada will have to think outside the box to make significant changes. It remains to be seen if they can translate their new beauty-focused projects into anything significant. Bodybuilding fans can rest assured that the seasoned athlete will apply his full effort and focus to reach his current goal.
