Newly retired NFL player Derek Wolfe shocked many of his Instagram followers when he posted a photo of a massive mountain lion he killed in a rural Colorado town.
Before killing the mountain lion, Wolf stated that he had heard from locals that the big cat had killed two dogs and was living under a local resident’s house.
The former Super Bowl champion of the Denver Broncos killed the big cat with a bow after tracking it down.

A mountain lion seems easily 7 feet tall, considering the wolf itself is 6’5.
Wolff’s post was titled βWe went straight up to 2500 feet and over to the other side, then back down again, back down the other side and then back down again to 9600 feet. Exhausted, dehydrated, cramping I pulled back [hunting bow] and sent [arrow point] through him.”
Many of Wolff’s Instagram followers praised the former NFL player for his big kill.

Others questioned the legality of his actions.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife dismissed any doubts and said Wolf was a licensed hunter and that his kill was perfectly legal since it was the mountain lion hunting season.
Derek Wolfe played defensive end for the Denver Broncos for eight years and was part of the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 championship team.
After playing for the Broncos, he played for the Ravens for two more years until retiring in July of last year.
