Former Fox News anchor-turned-CNN personality Chris Wallace mocked Kevin McCarthy about the speaker drama unfolding in the House and suggested it would never happen to Nancy Pelosi.
Wallace’s comments came while appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Thursday night.
Colbert began the segment by referring to McCarthy’s repeated losses in the speaker nomination vote as “karma” because he “sold (his) soul for political power and got nothing in return.”
Wallace later relayed the story of running into Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra, after traveling by train to New York City.
“We both agreed that this would never happen under Nancy Pelosi,” Wallace told Colbert. “Because Nancy Pelosi had a rule, which was: If you don’t have the votes, you don’t go to the floor.”

Chris Wallace pays tribute to Nancy Pelosi
A real journalist will get into that analysis a little later. But alas, Chris Wallace is not a real journalist. They are little more than CNN flack, which is, by extension, a marionette dance for the Democrat Party.
Pelosi actually ran into a similar situation in 2018 when “Squad” challenged her role as leader while pretending to be mavericks marching around DC.

Just like McCarthy is running now.
What’s the difference? The “squad” caught the tail and bent the knee to Pelosi, despite their bloviating over the change of scenery.
These GOP holdouts are doing what the Squad never dared to do: use their power to defy party leadership to get concessions.
Not sure it’s a source of pride to show how you always submit to party orders like a good soldier. There is not much dignity in that. https://t.co/t7uqZrUPGE

The group then voted with Pelosi on every issue, along with Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (93%), Ilhan Omar (93%), Ayanna Pressley (94%), and Rashida Tlaib (92%). Every major piece of legislation in the most recent session of Congress.
If anything, the speaker’s story isn’t about what Pelosi could have done better than McCarthy, it’s about how conservatives opposed to McCarthy had the guts to do what the squad never dared.
But Chris Wallace didn’t care to discuss it. Maybe it’s too ‘baseball’ for the rubes sitting in the audience clapping like seals for an uber-douche like Colbert.

Fun on CNN+
Wallace jumped at the chance to join Colbert to poke some fun at CNN+ after the network’s streaming service suffered an embarrassing run, shutting down just a month after launching last year.
Wallace was to become the leading face of the industry.
The last time he appeared with Colbert, he pointed out that the service still existed.
“CNN+ still exists. And that was the day before our show,” he said before a man in the audience interrupted him with applause.
“Thank you. There was one viewer of CNN+!” Wallace quipped.
Wallace was heralded as the ‘straight news’ guy at Fox for years, a silly notion by any measuring stick.
He was so enamored with President Biden that he described the marble-mouthed speaker’s inaugural speech as “the best inaugural speech I’ve ever heard.”
He’s covered news and politics for 50 years, and was that the best inaugural address he’s ever heard? ok

During that analysis, Wallace called Trump supporters who participated in the Jan. 6 protest “domestic terrorists” and “insurgents.”
That’s why his move to CNN is a match made in heaven. It is a shame that there is no one to see him now.
