A new ‘Church Committee’ with Libertarian Rep. Thomas Massey (R-KY) on board is in the works, leading to questions about what that means.
Fox News Host Tucker Carlson Says For Kevin McCarthy To Become House Speaker, He Must Agree To Two Actions – Release All Appointing Massey to head the “Frank Church Committee” to study the January 6 files and the FBI.
Shortly after the committee was announced, Massey broke the news to Carlson and suggested he might be “clairvoyant.”
The original Church Committee was formed in 1975 to study abuses in various intelligence agencies, including the FBI, CIA, and IRS. The revelations, largely unknown to Americans today, have revealed some of the worst crimes in our nation’s history.
“I don’t know if you’re clairvoyant or make predictions, but it’s happening,” Massey revealed.
He vowed that this new version of the committee would go after any “three-letter agency” that its members believed had violated Americans’ constitutional rights, and that he was “hopeful to see where the evidence leads us.”
Rep. Tucker Carlson had a role in McCarthy’s concessions. Thomas Massey agrees. Carlson has been pushing for a Frank Church-style committee led by Massey all week.

A church committee contemplates ‘absolute tyranny’
It wasn’t long before a clip of the late Senator Frank Church was replayed in a panel debate on NBC’s “Meet the Press” in 1975.
A clip that sends shivers down every American’s spine.
The senator was discussing the ability of the intelligence community to use certain technological advances to monitor church messages and use such technology against the American people.
And keep in mind, this was in 1975, long before social media and big tech companies like Twitter and Facebook, ubiquitous internet or cell phones.
“The technological capability the intelligence community has given the government makes it possible to impose total tyranny and have no way to fight back,” he warned.
Senator Church then added that there was “no place to hide.”
Ironically, There is no place to hide The title of Glenn Greenwald’s book about Edward Snowden and the unprecedented revelations about the US government’s power, ability and willingness to spy on innocent Americans.
Snowden’s revelations came in 2013 – 38 years after Senator Church’s warnings.
On August 17, 1975, Senator Frank Church appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press and issued a stark warning about specific technology perfected by the intelligence community that the US government could use to create “absolute tyranny” against its own citizens. pic.twitter.com/ndfZ3QS3JT

CIA members are embedded in the media
In another clip posted by Blaze Media CEO Tyler Corden, Church asks then-CIA director William Colby if he has any paid actors working in the media.
“Are any of the people working for the television networks paid by the CIA?” The church listens.

Investigative journalist Carl Bernstein wrote in 1977, “The use of journalists was the most productive means of intelligence gathering by the CIA.”
“The CIA’s use of the American news media is much more extensive than agency officials have admitted publicly or in closed sessions with members of Congress,” he said, noting connections between the agency and the New York Times, CBS and Time.
Readers may be familiar with this program under the umbrella of Operation MOCKINGBIRD exposed by the Church Committee. (Fake news is not a new phenomenon, folks!)
If the CIA had the ability to use technology to spy on Americans in 1975, and embedded individuals in corporate media, is it any wonder that the ‘Twitter Files’ show that their influence has not waned to any significant degree?

With revelations that Twitter censored Americans at the behest of the CIA and FBI regarding the Hunter Biden laptop story and COVID information, Church’s comments were more prophetic than alarmist.
