Senator Ted Cruz has called on the Justice Department to conduct a search of President Biden’s Senate papers, hidden from public view at the University of Delaware, for highly classified documents.
Cruz made the demand Monday during a podcast discussion of the president’s ongoing scandal.
A full search of Biden’s Senate papers is the next logical step in the investigation, the Texas senator said.
A recent search of Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware over the weekend revealed highly classified documents, some from when he represented the Blue Hen State from 1973 to 2009.
“The next step in this scandal is, OK, if Biden’s Senate papers contain classified documents outside of a classified setting — which is illegal — how many more classified documents are illegally in his Senate papers?” Cruz asked.
Big deal: Classified documents from Joe Biden’s Senate tenure discovered in his home.

Despite the fact that classified documents have been found in multiple places over the course of Biden’s political career, the president has insisted “there isn’t one.”
However, Cruz wants to see if there is anything somewhereAnd that somewhere is the University of Delaware.
“The University of Delaware has over 1,850 boxes of records from Joe Biden’s Senate tenure that he gave to the University of Delaware,” the Republican congressman told his co-host Ben Ferguson.
“Now the University of Delaware potentially doesn’t have them in SCIF. It doesn’t have them in a safe place.

“Ben, I’m calling the Department of Justice right now, the FBI to examine all 1,850 boxes of those Senate records to see how many additional classified documents are in those records,” Cruz announced.
“The answer should be nothing,” he said. “But given Biden’s example, we should have zero reason [to] Rest assured that there are no more than 1,850 boxes of classified documents among the 1,850 boxes of Senate records.

The university has hidden those papers
What could make such a search for classified documents at that location particularly explosive is that the University of Delaware has kept those Senate papers under wraps, hidden from media scrutiny.
Critics of the president insist it must be there for a reason.
In 2020, Business Insider requested access to Biden’s senatorial papers at the university, seeking documents that shed light on “(Tara) Reid’s” claims of sexual assault.
Reid, a former staff aide to then-Senator Joe Biden, claimed in 1993 that she had been sexually assaulted.
I did the interview @Tucker Carlson And he was kind to me when I talked about a very rough experience of sexual assault while I was working for Joe Biden in the Senate. I hope that Joe Biden will be investigated by Congress for what he did to me and all of us. https://t.co/BXGNf4cB3p

Reid insists she filed a complaint alleging harassment (not actual assault) she received at the time and that the University of Delaware papers may contain her separation letter and possibly other documents supporting her allegations.
“The complaint remains in Biden’s office,” reports the Intercept, “and, if it still exists, is in Biden’s papers at the University of Delaware.”
“Maybe if other staff members who tried to file complaints come to light – why are they under seal?” Reid asked in an interview with Fox News. “And why aren’t they released to the public?”
Joe Biden’s Senate papers are locked for 2020
The University of Delaware won’t release them until two years after Biden “retired from public life.” https://t.co/7LMHcslNTU https://t.co/UxWYqHnFXE pic.twitter.com/58KGMvjiLk— Henry Dean (@cotangent2theta) April 19, 2020
The University of Delaware denied Business Insider’s request for the Senate papers, with a statement that they “will remain closed to the public for two years after Mr. Biden retires from public life.”
Biden has vehemently denied Reed’s allegations and said the university’s “archives do not contain personnel files.”
And the search for potentially classified records does not translate into other personnel records released to the public.
