Job Description
Sr. Network Engineer Overview: Must have 5 years of experience with designing and architecting Cisco ACI solutions based on business and technical requirements. This involves understanding data center networking principles, application requirements, and security considerations. Deploy Cisco ACI fabric and associated networking components such as spine switches, leaf switches, APIC controllers, and integration with existing network infrastructure. Configuring ACI policies, tenant networking, VLANs, VXLANs, access policies, and Quality of Service (QoS) settings. Optimizing network performance and troubleshooting connectivity issues. Leveraging automation tools (like Python scripts, Ansible, or Cisco's APIC API) to streamline provisioning, configuration, and management tasks within the ACI fabric. Monitoring the health and performance of the ACI fabric using tools like Cisco APIC, telemetry data, and syslog. Troubleshooting network issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions. Implementing security policies within the ACI fabric, ensuring compliance with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements. Documenting network designs, configurations, procedures, and changes. Generating reports on network performance, capacity planning, and infrastructure health. Working closely with cross-functional teams including network operations, security teams, and application teams to support their requirements and troubleshoot issues. Keeping up-to-date with Cisco ACI technology advancements through training and self-study. Sharing knowledge and mentoring junior team members. Identifying opportunities to enhance network efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Proposing and implementing improvements to the ACI fabric based on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Required Skills: - Security Clearance: Active Secret (TS/SCI preferred)
- IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent
- Understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals (e.g. DNS, FTP, SSH, ACL, VLAN, DMZ, BGP), general networking technologies, network architecture and connectivity troubleshooting
- Ability to describe and troubleshoot routing and switching issues
- Network design, engineering, and implementation (Advanced Level)
- Creation of network related Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) equipment lists and costing
- Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities
- Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed
- Ability to work independently with little direction and guidance
- 5 years related technical experience in Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniques
- 5+ years' experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a high paced diverse environment
- Understanding and experience with the DoD Architecture Framework and other key DoD network architecture and strategic planning instructions
- Thorough experience performing packet capture analysis or running Wireshark is highly desirable.
- Review and/or approve Network engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet Network needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete
- Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating Network integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces
- Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository
Desired Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Cisco Certified CCNA, CCNP, CCDP (or equivalent).
- Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Cisco ACI-based networks.
- Manage and support the Cisco ISE solution across the organization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ISE with other network components
Additional Information: - Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity
- Travel may be required to support the mission

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
