Internship - Sports Management

This internship will consist of detailed operations and event planning in the sports industry. The Sports Management Intern will assist in all areas of the operations department. This includes event set-up and breakdown, event planning and coordinating, and performing various roles, including manager on duty, during events. Interns will receive hands-on experience in all aspects of event management. This will require an individual with a strong competitive spirit and a winning attitude, team oriented with leadership abilities, communication, and people skills. Owning a personality for unparalleled integrity, a can-do attitude, will-do bias for action, an unwillingness to accept the status-quo with an accountability-based grounding and exceptional organization and collaboration skills is key. This individual must be a confident business professional, promoting a humble disposition with the fortitude and perseverance to help win as a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overseeing day-to-day activities as assigned not limited to service in a manager on duty role.
• Shadow all full-time team members of the Operations Department.
• Help with reconciling event/monthly labor reports for athletic trainers, security personnel, and employees, as well as other administrative duties
• Assist full-time staff with vendor and tenant coordination.
• Create and foster positive relationships with all LakePoint team members.
• Shadow the manager on duty during events and assist in overseeing part-time team members.
• Attend event operation meetings and take informative notes.
• Willingness to perform clerical responsibilities including answering phone calls, creating documents, sending emails, and updating the event information board.
• Be able to work cooperatively and lead in a group setting or by oneself with limited supervision to complete the assigned task(s).
• Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisor and ensure thorough completion of those assigned tasks.
