Swensons Drive-In Restaurants, LLC was founded in 1934 by Wesley T. “Pop” Swensons in Akron, Ohio. Swensons is a drive-in restaurant providing high quality burgers and milk shakes. We have grown into 20+ drive-in restaurants throughout Ohio. Swensons is looking to grow and strives to be Best in Brand in all we do. We are looking for a dedicated and energetic training leader that will share our passion for high quality to join our team as a Regional Trainer. This is an exciting opportunity to own the responsibility of developing our managers and team members to provide exceptional guest service and high quality food.
Summary:
The Regional Trainer will be responsible for executing a training plan focused on developing our managers according to company standards and high quality expectations. Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all manager training as well as in location training programs for all team members. As such, you will lead, mentor, coach and manage new restaurant managers and trainees. This individual will be the face of Swensons to all newly hired managers. They will be responsible for maintaining restaurant standards to include the quality of food, friendliness and speed of service, cleanliness and safety of team members and guests.

Essential Job Duties:
· Training and mentoring trainees and existing team members to improve their performance
· Ensuring compliance of trainees to follow food safety regulations and company policies. Managing the Serv Safe program for internal managers
· Developing, improving and implementing onboarding and training plans for all restaurant positions
· Creating and developing training visual aids and teaching aids such as recipe cards.
· Evaluating and assessing trainee skills and communicating those assessments to operational leadership
· Maintaining and developing relationships with restaurant teams as well as senior management.
· Assist restaurant managers with guidance on developing individual location trainers
· Complies with company policies, practices and procedures and communicates all changes to operational leaders in the region
· Assists managers in carrying out their responsibilities as needed while at locations
· Strives to create an operation that values Swensons standards of service. Creates and contributes to a high-energy environment that promotes maximum engagement and enjoyment for the team and the guests alike
· Assist in the facilitation of the rollouts of new systems, programs or menus
· Creation of training videos with some video editing experience a plus.
· Ensure training materials are kept up to date, ensures consistency across the brand when it comes to service policies and procedures
· Integral part of all new restaurant location openings in regard to training this includes creating materials and hands on training of new team through grand opening
· Communicates in an impactful and meaningful way with all employees of Swensons creating a respectful work environment
· Confidently makes quick and effective decisions under pressure
· Learns from mistakes to ensure personal growth and future effectiveness
· Remains open to other methods and input from managers, team members, and peers to improve training program

ADA Requirements/Physical Standards:
· Exposure to extreme temperatures based upon variable weather conditions inside and outside of the restaurant
· Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility and reasonable range of motion such as bending, stooping, standing, walking, stirring, lifting to complete physical tasks related to responsibilities for up to eight (8) hours
· Able to safely respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others
· Ability to safely operate blenders, frozen drink machines, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment as needed. Ability to safely place plates, utensils, pans and cases on both high and low shelves.
· Must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
· Ability to safely work in environment that includes wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noise
· Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally and listen attentively to team members, guests, vendors, and visitors
· Ability to arrive on time for each scheduled shift and work throughout the shift (aside from legally required breaks) per the schedule and restaurant demands
Requirements:· 3-5 years of coaching, training and development experience, preferably restaurant or retail experience
· Legal right to work in the United States and provide proof
· Must have a valid driver’s license, your own reliable source of transportation and be able to travel for work purposes
· Good communication and facilitation skills
· Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
· Demonstrates the ability to quickly develop positive working relationships
· Positive, energetic, “can do” attitude with the ability to work on your feet entire length of shift in a fast-paced environment
· Exhibit good manners, proper personal hygiene, and work successfully in a team environment
· Flexible work schedule including availability to work evenings and weekends when required for training
