POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Project Operations Manager to lead our team in executing landscape construction projects with precision and efficiency. This position will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the assigned construction jobs. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure projects are completed to high-quality standards and within designated timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Leadership: Lead and guide the Landscape construction installation crew on various projects, ensuring the team works efficiently and safely to meet project objectives. Effectively communicate project details, timelines, and expectations to the crew.

2. Quality Control: Oversee the installation of various landscape elements, such as grading and planting. Ensure installations meet design specifications and company quality standards.

3. Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to maximize productivity and minimize wastage. Coordinate with the project manager to procure necessary materials and equipment.

4. Safety Compliance: Enforce and promote a culture of safety on job sites. Conduct regular safety meetings, address safety concerns, and ensure crew members adhere to proper safety protocols and guidelines.

5. Problem Solving: Proactively identify and address project challenges and obstacles that may arise during installations. Implement effective solutions to keep projects on track and on budget.

6. Staff Training and Development: Mentor and train crew members, helping them enhance their skills and knowledge in hardscape installation techniques. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

7. Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, landscape designers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth flow of information and efficient project execution. Provide updates on project progress and address any issues promptly.

8. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, serviced, and in good working condition. Identify equipment needs and coordinate repairs or replacements as required.

9. Budget Adherence: Monitor project budgets and control costs effectively. Keep track of expenditures, labor hours, and material usage to ensure projects stay within budgetary constraints.

Requirements:

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape construction, with a proven track record of managing and leading teams on various projects.
  • Thorough understanding of landscape installation techniques, materials, and industry best practices. Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction and landscaping.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications. Proficient in using various hardscape installation tools and equipment.
  • A valid driver's license is required for travel to project sites and potential equipment transportation.
  • Any relevant certifications in hardscaping or related fields would be an advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and maintain a positive work environment.
