Payroll Administrator

Position Summary:
Kelly is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with multi-state employment and tax laws. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role will manage payroll functions, reconcile records, and support various payroll-related audits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Process payroll accurately, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits, garnishments, and taxes.
• Handle off-cycle payrolls and address payroll errors or final discharges.
• Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and provide accurate payout information.
• Create and maintain annual payroll reconciliations and quarterly tax reports.
• Prepare and maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
• Facilitate workers' compensation audits and support Pension and 401K audits.
• Process VEBA contributions, participate in benefit management, and reconcile W-2s.
• Train new hires on timecard procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and taxes.
• Experience with multi-state compliance guidelines.
• Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of payroll experience, with at least one year in accounting or bookkeeping preferred.
• Payroll certification is a plus.
