Position Type : Full-Time
Starting Wage: $29.75 per hour
Wage Increases: Year 2 - $30.75 | Year 3 - $31.75 | Year 4 - $33.25
Work Location: Naperville, IL
This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

• Researches industry-related topics.

• Writes clear, concise and grammatically correct internal communications copy; develops unique and attractive headlines.

• Collaborates with writers, designers, and internal communications colleagues on large and small-scale internal communications projects.

• Proofreads and edits content produced by other departments.

• Coordinates with designers to illustrate articles.

• Maintains a cohesive brand voice; ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone) with the ALDI employer brand.

• Demonstrates interest in business partners’ communication needs.

• Uses data-driven insights to write effective content.

• Stays abreast of new and current technology and communication trends to support the overall strategy.

• Represents the team in independent interactions with national committees, divisional representatives and corporate departments.

• Explains, sells and defends ideas, remains open to feedback and constructive criticism.

• Consults with the team’s specialist and coordinator regarding communications needs and recommended solutions.

• Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility.

• Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leader.

• Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

 

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field required.

• A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in Communications, Marketing or Human Resources required.

• Experience developing and managing content and editorial performance required.

• Experience managing internal corporate communications programs for a large organization and experience with employee intranets and a variety of internal employee communication channels (blogs, video, social media, mobile communication) preferred.

• Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

• Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.

• Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.

• Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.

• Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs. 

 

Travel:

 

• Minimal travel required as needed for job related duties such as training, project work and administrative tasks.
