JOB PURPOSE: Instructional Designers ensure the smooth and effective functioning of small to large-scale training events and special projects. Instructional Designers focus on the development and continuous improvement of curriculum, design, and delivery in supporting the organization with new products, procedures, and processes. This person collaborates with the business to create, facilitate, and update new hire and ongoing virtual training.
This is a hybrid position working 3 days per week in the office with the option to work from home 2 days per week.
KEY FUNCTIONS: - Research, design, build, and execute web-based, multimedia, and classroom development solutions and use instructional methods that best suit the content and learning needs of the participants.
- Collaborate across boundaries with internal customers to design and implement the most effective development solutions.
- Serve as subject matter expert in projects/initiatives to create procedures and tools to assist team members with their responsibilities.
- Execute on the design, build, and integration of technical, customer service, sales, and support functions into comprehensive curriculum for each training function.
- Design and develop training modules, programs, and resources based on business and performance objectives utilizing online learning tools including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate, Vyond, and Canva.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and experts regarding instructional design.
- Use known education principles and innovate using new training methods and techniques.
- Manage resources and budget responsibilities to maximize cost effectiveness and quality.
- Quickly understand and assimilate new technologies.
- Demonstrate business acumen by maintaining proficient knowledge of Midco products and services as well as current trends in web technologies and design practices.
- Ideate, design and revise compelling print and digital experiences.
- Work independently as well as in a team environment to meet production deadlines.
- Compile monthly reports to Digital CX Ops Manager.
- Follow and serve as a role model in displaying Midco’s Core Values and Leadership Success Drivers.
- Adhere to Midco’s privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
- Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, communications, training, education, or business required.
- 1-2 years experience in instructional design required.
- Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques.
- Experience with learning management systems and digital delivery methods.
- Skills in instructional design and adult learning principles highly desired.
- Must know or be willing to learn and use online development tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate, Vyond, and Canva.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook).
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL & MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS: - The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal customers and cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with great self-motivation, organization and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to research and analyze learning needs and outcomes.
- Flexibility to adjust instructional methods to suit different learning styles and needs.
- Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
