Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Human Resources to join Whim Hospitality. This key leadership role is responsible for developing and executing People strategies that support business goals, foster a positive company culture, and promote employee engagement across our properties and businesses. The HR Director will oversee all human resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, compensation, and compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and align People strategies with business objectives to support company growth and operational excellence.
  • Partner with senior leadership to shape an inclusive, performance-driven culture.
  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes to attract top talent across all roles.
  • Develop staffing plans to ensure adequate support across departments, particularly during peak seasons.
  • Ensure hiring and employment practices align with company values.
  • Employee Engagement & Relations:
  • Foster a positive work environment through engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and clear communication channels.
  • Address and resolve employee issues in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Promote a culture that values diversity and ensures equal opportunities for all employees.
  • Training & Development:
  • Design and implement professional development programs to enhance employee skills and career progression.
  • Ensure managers and staff are trained on policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Compensation & Benefits:
  • Oversee salary structures, bonus programs, and benefit offerings to ensure competitiveness and alignment with company goals.
  • Conduct regular market analyses to maintain fair and equitable compensation practices.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Manage employee records, contracts, and HR systems to meet regulatory and organizational standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Masters degree or HR certification preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (experience in hospitality is highly preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience in change management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Proficiency with HR software and systems, including talent management platforms and payroll systems.
