Spruce Lake Ministries encourages persons from a variety of Christian faith traditions to a deeper faith in God through Jesus Christ.

In this peaceful setting in the heart of the Pocono Mountains in northeastern Pennsylvania, provides youth camps, retreats for families and individuals throughout the year. At Spruce Lake Ministries: Youth Campus or Pinebrook, we offer adventure-filled programs for children and teens. Younger campers taste the joys of being outdoors at Day Camp or attending a Parent-Child event. Children and teens make new friends and form long-lasting relationships at Summer Overnight Camps and off-site Expeditions that are fun, challenging, and immerse kids in the beauty of God's creation.

The Day Camp Manager (DCM) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day implementation of Spruce Lake Ministries' Day Camps (DC) including both year-round planning for all campuses as well as direct management of one campus during the active DC summer season. The DCM is responsible to create programming and content which provides an outstanding camper experience and which is in alignment with the values and mission of Spruce Lake Ministries (SLM). The DCM shall work collaboratively with other members of the Youth Ministries program and operational staff to ensure a positive camper experience for all campers.

Prerequisites:

• Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Must affirm and be living/modeling Spruce Lake statement of faith and core values.
• Must have a teachable spirit, team-player attitude, and servant heart.
• Must be responsible, industrious, hospitable, and enthusiastic.

Qualifications

• Two plus years of progressive supervisory experience.
• Two years of experience with DC or similar programs.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
• Flexibility and ministry vision consistent with carrying out duties in a manner supportive of the camp environment.
• Basic math, reading and computer skills including Microsoft office suite and databases.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
• Must hold current CPR certification or be willing to obtain the same
• Must be trained in Adventure Programming and Lifeguarding or be willing to obtain the same.

Essential Responsibilities: (see attached job description for more details)

Development & Planning - All Campuses

• Together with the YMPD, sets vision for the current and future model of SLM DCs by developing strategies for spiritual and program growth.

Programming - All Campuses

Marketing - All Campuses

• Serves as the primary ambassador for SLM's DCs.

Summer Oversight - Pinebrook

• Ensure smooth operation of Pinebrook DC programs

Other Responsibilities:

• Adhere to, promote, and endorse the Faith Statement and Core Values of Spruce Lake Ministries.

Spruce Lake Ministries, Pinebrook or Spruce Lake, does not currently hire anyone who is not authorized to work in the US, nor are we able to sponsor international employees or volunteers.

At the employer's expense, all employment hires are contingent upon completion of FBI Criminal Background fingerprint clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance and PA Criminal History Clearance.
