Job Details Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the manufacturing/processing industry. This role will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic financial planning, cost management, and financial analysis. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and results.
- Analyze and report financial performance with variance explanations.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Coordinate monthly and annual closing processes including reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain standard costing system.
- Ensure inventory is accurate and properly valued.
- Establish controls and procedures for cycle count processes.
- Serve as back-up role for payroll processing in ADP.
- Serve as back-up role for invoicing.
- Approve supporting documentation for credit memos and prepare credit memos.
- Coordinate the implementation of the annual budget process.
- Analyze current and prospective operations to identify opportunities to improve revenue and reduce expenses.
- Supervise finance staff and Inventory Coordinator.
- Implement internal controls to protect company assets and to reduce risks of transactional errors and fraud.
- Ensure safe handling of cash.
- Develop comprehensive reports for all departments to assist them in improving their operations.
- Contribute to strategic planning.
- Support organization with ERP training and transaction assistance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
- Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
- Advanced degree in Accounting or CPA is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting processes.
- Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
- High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
