Position Summary: The Controller leads our finance team, ensuring meticulous oversight of all financial operations. The Controller oversees routine accounting activities, manages financial records, develops budgets, and strategically allocates financial resources. This critical role requires a proactive approach, exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to provide sharp financial insights. These insights will enable the Service Operations team to pursue ongoing improvement efforts. Ultimately, the Controller is instrumental in our ability to maintain our steadfast dedication to excellence, supporting both our workforce and our customers. Given the size and nature of our company, a successful candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity, hands-on tasks, and strategic responsibilities. This position primarily operates in a remote work environment, with occasional in-person office time expected, possibly 1-2 days per month. Candidates must reside within 2 hours commute of the Portland, OR area. Specific Position Requirements & Responsibilities: Direct, manage, and perform the daily activities of the finance department, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial reporting, and other related functions. Collaborate with our outsourced Certified Public Accountant firm and banking partners. Oversee the creation of accurate, compliant, and insightful periodic financial statements. Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. Coordinate and oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with the Director of Business Operations in developing financial plans and targets. Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancements, and operational efficiency improvements. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives. Mentor and develop finance team members, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster professional growth and ensure departmental effectiveness.
