A July 11 article about an Abraham Lincoln letter sold at auction, using information provided by the Robb Collection, incorrectly identified one of the three generals Abraham Lincoln mentioned in an August 19, 1861 letter to American Charles Ellett Jr. Civil Engineer and Union Army Colonel. He is Joseph Totten, not James Totten.
A Saturday article about camp memories by Broadway veterans and movie stars misidentified a production in which actress Andrea Burns appeared. That’s “Man of La Mancha,” not “Don Quixote.”

A July 11 article on environmental concerns related to open pit coal mines incorrectly described the cause of cutthroat trout dieoff in the Fording River. According to an assessment of the incident by mining company Tech Resources, there is no evidence that selenium played a role in the case. Additionally, the article misrepresented the company’s applications for mining. It is trying to expand one of its mines, not open two new ones.
