The NPP fully endorses and supports the entire contents of Hon. Brian Acheampang’s speech or comments during NPP’s mega ‘Arise & Build Unity Walk’ on Saturday 8th April in Kwahu-Empresso.
National organizers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) say the party supports the Abetifi MP’s comment that the current government will never hand over power to the NDC.
According to Henry Nana Boki, there were apparently two issues involved in his speech.
1. Bryan Acheampong said if the NDC dares to use intimidation and violence during the honorable 2024 election, we will let them know we have men. “Of course, the state has advocated uniform men to ensure that there is peace and tranquility in the country,” said Nana B.
Brian Acheampong’s call is important when former president John Dramani Mahama has inadvertently stated in various forums that the NDC was born out of revolution, so no one can unleash violence better than the NDC political party in the 2024 elections. It’s a make or break relationship.
It was a good call by the National Chairman of the NDC, Aseedu Nketiah when he said “even if the 2024 elections cost the NDC blood sacrifice, they will do it”.
An NDC youth organizer from Suame Constituency was recently arrested for saying “we will kill for political power” and when he was granted bail, the NDC national leadership sent a delegation to the Ashanti region to celebrate him. In fact the NDC subsequently even issued a statement justifying and endorsing such a criminal act.
2. Secondly, Hon Acheampong said “Opposition NDC thinks they will win the election because of the challenges they are facing in the economy these days but as you can see the Cedi is stabilizing and fuel prices are down drastically so the government will fix the challenges”.
Based on this, “we will never hand over power to the NDP. We will ensure that the NPP remains in government at any cost, the economy will be fully recovered by June or July,” he continued.
According to Nana B, Brian Acheampong clarified his comments on the turnaround of the economy, fuel prices and the stabilization of the cedi.
“There is absolutely nothing wrong with his comments. The NPP fully endorses and supports his comments,” He said.
