From Dr. Derek Ellerman
This is perhaps the easiest litmus test you can give modern American conservatives to see if they “get it” or not.
The test is: far-left journalists are just do-gooders – just pawns and stooges wrong? Or are they deliberate actors – agents of energy?
I can only speak for modern America – but the answer is most definitely the latter.
And in the case of this country, at this time, that means top-ranking journalists work; 1) Langley/Pentagon/Quantico, 2) elected Democrats and 3) leftist activists.
Who do they work for? Elon Musk may not fully “get it” yet โ or at least he hasn’t publicly admitted it โ but that’s why fake news is on a rampage and once again focusing their fire on America’s greatest futurist.
Twitter has begun labeling several prominent Western media outlets as “government-funded” or “state-affiliated”.
In particular, the BBC, NPR, PBS and Voice of America fell under the new “filter”. In this way, the management of the social network led by billionaire Elonโฆ pic.twitter.com/fxvXWIPvYm

The news media is upset with the inaccurate reporting
Last week, Elon Musk’s Twitter finally semi-corrected a long-standing bias in his label. Foreign press outlets, headquartered in a country on today’s enemy list, have long been slapped with the “state-linked media” label, until Western outlets are finally included with the proper label.
(As a side note, Twitter ended up changing the label to “government funded,” so Elon might not get it. The point still stands.)
It started with NPR. Admittedly the least powerful and most hackneyed of America’s left-wing media outlets, this is a good start.
And boy, was lib journus furious.
But aside, so we can all bask in the glory of the American education system, some of NPR’s defenders have no idea what “state-funded” means.
Really. See:
Let’s all be clear: NPR is not state-funded, nor does it take editorial direction from the government. Less than 1% of NPR’s annual operating budget comes from government grants and other federal agencies and departments.
It is publicly funded, not state-funded. https://t.co/ipohtaku9h

NPR, you can please me by telling your audience that “state” means “government” so they know the basics of how it works.
A similar incident happened across the pond, with the BBC getting the same label.
The BBC says they shouldn’t get the labelโฆ because the BBC is publicly funded. (How are people graduating?)

Get the musk!
The brouhaha, instead of prompting a quick introspection in the media, has spawned another round of “Elon Musk is a moron” stories.
Like this.
Twitter lost money in the tech bubble! HA, what an idiot Elon Musk must be!
Meanwhile, my feed is filled with sweet, juicy ads that keep the internet free and without hundreds of “employees” doing nothing all day, not ticking off how they’re going to eat lunch, but everything still seems to be working fine.
This is the reality.
For too long, the media in this country has had two clients: the government and the American left.
They do not play any kind of watchdog role. In fact, it is quite the exact opposite. They are part-and-parts of the modern total state.
How can you describe New York Times, the most respected newspaper in the world, Arguing openly That’s us Don’t do it Ask more questions about who Really Did Nord Stream blow up the pipeline?
Intelligence leaks surrounding who blew up the Russian-backed Nord Stream pipelines last September have provided more questions than answers. No one may be interested in revealing more. https://t.co/N5dmSwOJwJ
โ The New York Times (@nytimes) April 7, 2023
When everyone immediately blames Russia for blowing up their own pipeline is it โin whose interestโ? Or is it only now that we know the likely culprit: New York Times bosses?
No editor at Pravda would be embarrassed enough for such blatant propaganda. The Soviet dictators had more respect for the intelligence and dignity of their people than for the journos Americans.
The only problem with the Musk move is that it doesn’t go far enough.
MSNBC and CNN are transparent campaign arms of the DNC. Fox News is transparently a campaign arm of the GOP’s Mitch McConnell-wing.
Give everyone an appropriate label, Elon!
