It seems that the Left’s “green energy” initiatives, which purport to be environmentally friendly, are actually doing more harm than good to the environment.
Whales are stranding on American beaches that are near offshore wind projects, which many believe are actually causing these deadly strandings.
According to Fox Business, however, despite previous warnings from the National Ocean Atmospheric Association (NOAA), federal agencies such as the Marine Mammal Commission are denying any connection between the threads and offshore wind projects.
In May 2022, NOAA scientist Sean Hayes wrote a memo stating that “onshore wind growth poses a threat to these species.” [whales]And “these hazards occur at various stages, including construction and development, and include increased noise, shipping traffic, habitat modifications, water withdrawals associated with some substations.”
Meanwhile, lawmakers and scientists are calling on the federal and state governments to implement a moratorium on offshore wind projects pending an investigation into whether these deaths were caused by the projects.
Several people have taken to Twitter to express their disgust at the left’s hypocrisy and silence on this issue.
Steve Gray, a former congressional candidate from New Jersey, wrote, “Where are the environmentalists? No outrage. No protests against a Democrat-led government supporting offshore wind farms. The hypocrisy is deafening. 14 dead whales and counting.”

Meanwhile, another Twitter user wrote that plans for wind turbines could “wipe out whales forever”.

The first big irony in all of this is the adverse impact these projects have on whales.
For decades, leftists and environmentalists have held up whales as a sacred symbol of environmentalism and launched campaigns aimed at “saving the whales” and produced several films with the same message.
Now, these same environmentalists seem to be ignoring the lives of the very creatures they claim to care about because their initiatives are likely to cause them massive harm.
Also, we need to note that wind power is constantly being marketed as an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels, with many left-wing governments wanting to make a complete switch to alternative energy.
Of course, there is the fact that these alternative energy sources have been shown time and time again to be completely unreliable.
But as this series of whale deaths shows, environmentalists claim that alternative energy is not an environmentally friendly alternative.
In addition to the danger they pose to whales, they have been shown to be harmful to other endangered and protected animals.
This begs the question, if the left claims to care so much about the environment, why are they ignoring the fact that endangered species are dying as a result of these initiatives?
