Seattle’s school district is laying off employees as student enrollment declines for a variety of reasons.
People are tired of public schools that teach students smart garbage while neglecting to teach the basics like math, reading, and writing.
The number of homeschoolers in the state has doubled since 2019.

The Seattle School District was forced to lay off amid declining student enrollment
A Seattle school district is being forced to lay off employees amid financial turmoil caused by declining student enrollment.
Seattle Public Schools announced Tuesday that some staff members may lose their jobs to address budget shortfalls.
“This week…we gave some notice to employees about being considered for ‘RIF’ and relocation so that’s happening,” said Dr. Brent Jones, SPS superintendent, said at Tuesday night’s school board meeting.
“We’re at that point right now,” Jones added.
The board noted that its deficit was at a “tipping point”, with its “structural deficit” growing to $131 million.
He cited the termination of his one-time state and federal resources from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER) and funding for riderless transportation.
On top of the adverse circumstances, the board added that student needs are increasing and labor costs are “significantly higher than state and local funding.”
Declining enrollment is a major problem in the district. According to the board, enrollment has decreased since the 2013-14 fiscal year, but staffing has been increased to address the needs of students…
The number of homeschooled students in the state has nearly doubled since 2019, according to data from the Center for Reinventing Public Education (CRPE), a research institute at Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
Some schools are eligible to fail.
