The US Department of Energy came out and claimed that Covid was released from a lab. But no American entity has yet claimed that the release was intentional.

According to a classified intelligence report recently provided to the White House and key members of Congress, the US Department of Energy has concluded that the Covid pandemic may have originated from a laboratory leak.
The previously undecided Energy Department change in how the virus emerged was noted in a 2021 document update by the office of Director of National Intelligence Avril Hines.
“The new report highlights how different parts of the intelligence community have come to divergent conclusions about the origin of the epidemic. The Energy Department has now joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation in saying that the virus likely spread through an accident in a Chinese laboratory. Four other agencies, along with the National Intelligence Committee, still believe it was the result of natural transmission. Determined and two undecided.
TGP was the first major publication to report on the Wuhan lab and the possible release of Covid from that lab. We reported that the lab was working on live animals, and information coming out of China showed that as of February 2020, the Chinese reported that the lab was the source of COVID.

However, one thing that states experts give China a pass on is whether or not Covid was released on purpose.
Why do experts in our country who now report on lab leaks call the leak in the lab an “accident”?
Last April, Dr. Li-Meng Yan said. “Covid is no accident,” he said. Dr. Li-Meng is a virologist in Hong Kong who fled after the COVID pandemic.
