Dilbert creator Scott Adams had a strong response to Rasmussen’s poll, responding to whether or not he thought it was “okay to be white.”
“That’s a real question Rasmussen asked,” he told viewers of his Real Coffee with Scott Adams YouTube video series.
The results were somewhat shocking, with 26% of black respondents saying they disagree with the statement that it’s “okay to be white,” while another 21% were unsure.
“Put them together, and that means 47% of black respondents are unwilling to say it’s okay to be white,” said a seemingly bewildered Adams. “That’s actually — that’s like a real survey.”

Scott Adams is asking ‘Is it OK to be white’ in the survey?
Adams later had a provocative response to the survey, joking that he ‘identifies’ as black but could no longer do so based on the results.

“Half of all blacks don’t get along with white people,” he said. “According to this survey – not mine – according to this survey.”
“That’s a hate group,” Adams added.
Among those who “strongly disagree” with the aforementioned statement – 18% are blacks, 10% are Hispanics, and just 2% are whites.
Additionally, 8% of Democrats strongly disagree that ‘being white is okay’.
Adams continued by suggesting that race problems could not be fixed according to this survey and that white people should separate themselves from such ‘hate groups’.
“All I can say is, the way things are going right now, the best advice I can give white people is to stay the hell away from black people,” the cartoonist joked.
“Just go the fuck away. Wherever you want to go, just stay away. Because it cannot be fixed. It can’t be fixed,” Adams continued.

Poll asks if black people can be racist too
Another question in Rasmussen’s survey asked respondents whether they agreed or disagreed with the statement – “Black people can be racist too.”
Overall, 79% of Americans who responded agreed with the sentiment, including a majority — 53% — who strongly agreed.

Taken together, another alternative perspective here is that despite the media narrative that paints America as strictly black or white, in reality there are many shades of gray.
The media portrays all whites as racists and all blacks as victims of racism.
But this survey shows that overall 72% of people agree that ‘being white is okay’ while 79% understand the reality that there are racists for every skin colour.
Scott Adams’ reaction was a mixture of partial disbelief at the poll question, partial skepticism at the poll results, and sarcasm, perhaps best of all was this response to Rasmussen’s incendiary questions:
I will continue to make my decisions based on each person regardless of their race.

In fact, it’s time Americans start seeing each other as individuals rather than being painted with the broad brush of racism that the media wants us to believe.
