Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Antonio named the Ghanaian defender as one of his toughest opponents alongside Van Dijk.
He noted that the center back is impulsive and likes to be on top of his opponents, adding that Salisu did not give him an inch.
“Saleesu, he’s a brat, he’s just like all of you. He didn’t give me an inch. He was all over me,” declared Antonio.
The Ghanaian has been one of Southampton’s brightest sports this season despite the club’s stuttering form in the Premier League this season.
The 23-year-old played for Ghana at the Qatar 2022 World Cup and started all three matches as the Black Stars exited in the group stages.
At club level, he has been a mainstay in Southampton’s starting line-up as they aim to stay in the Premier League.
Saints are currently bottom of the league table with just 18 points from 23 matches so far.
Meanwhile, Salisu and his teammates will focus on Saturday’s Premier League game against Leeds United after beating Chelsea last week.
