Department of Justice (DOJ) Continues Pursuit of Pro-Life Activists After Supreme Court Overturns Ruling Roe v. WadeIn 2020, Michigan indicted eight people on charges of violating Freedom of Access to Clinic Admissions (FACE) laws at a pair of abortion clinics.

The DOJ announced the indictments on Wednesday, accusing each of the individuals of “engaging in a conspiracy to deprive and prevent patients there from receiving reproductive health services” at the clinic in Sterling Heights.

He is accused of using “physical obstruction” to harass patients and employees to interfere with their appointments.

Those found guilty of violating the FACE Act face up to 11 years in prison and a $350,000 fine.

    DOJ Targeting Pro-Life Activists

The most under-reported story is the targeting of pro-life activists by Biden’s DOJ, accelerating their pursuit in the post-Roe era.

Attorney General Merrick Garland, since early in his tenure, has been a proponent of using the FACE Act to “protect those who seek to obtain or provide reproductive health services.”

Political Insider reported in October that the DOJ was attacking Americans for Life, charging 11 activists with violations of the act for blocking access to an abortion clinic in 2021.

In contrast, Garland and the DOJ took no action against the leftists who fire-bombed many crisis pregnancy centers. Centers are constant targets of attacks across the country.

Peaceful protests at abortion clinics can get you federal charges from the DOJ.

A month ago, a federal jury acquitted pro-life protester Mark Huck of federal charges accused of pushing an abortion clinic escort in Philadelphia.

Hook’s charges similarly fell under the FACE Act. Local prosecutors declined to pursue the case, but the feds took over and sent a team of armed FBI agents to his home, arresting him in front of his wife and children.

DOJ is targeting Catholics as ‘violent extremists’

The GOP-led House of Representatives will reportedly use a newly created subcommittee on the “Weaponization of the Federal Government” to investigate the DOJ’s seemingly excessive pursuit of pro-life activists.

“This subcommittee is critical to providing oversight and accountability against a federal government that has blatantly and shamelessly turned against the people,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) told Catholic News Agency.

Earlier this month, the DOJ and FBI warned that “radical conservative” Catholics pose an extremist threat, according to a leaked memo, The Political Insider reported.

I can’t believe the FBI has an internal memo calling Catholic Virginians “violent extremists” because of their religious views.

This rhetoric from the government is wrong and un-American, and I demand answers!https://t.co/AwDvp2DXss

“Anti-Catholic bigotry appears to be on the rise in the FBI, and the Bureau is treating Catholics as potential terrorists because of their beliefs,” read a letter from 20 attorneys general to Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray.

Garland’s DOJ is perhaps the most overtly political department in this country’s history with significant real-world consequences for defendants.

They used the PATRIOT Act to go after parents as domestic terrorists, they portrayed American truckers protesting vaccine mandates as a terrorist threat, and now they’re using the FACE Act to go after pro-life activists.

House lawmakers must get to the bottom of this before any more lives are lost for the crime of being on the politically wrong side of the Biden administration.
