Project Veritas implores supporters to ‘give us a chance’ after James O’Keefe Oster

Project Veritas sent a mass email to subscribers and donors to stay with the conservative media group after its public split with founder James O’Keefe.

The email seeks to clarify some matters related to the split and explains some of the issues that led to the conflict and is currently under independent two-dimensional audit.

“We understand and share your frustration,” the emotional letter begins. “We all love and respect James and hope he comes back. It’s been difficult for everyone.”

The missive asserts that Project Veritas did not expel O’Keefe.

“James’ removal is not removal,” he writes. “He specifically said he did not resign and the board did not fire him.”

Project Veritas describes James O’Keefe’s departure

Political Insider reported earlier this week that James O’Keefe has been placed on paid leave as Project Veritas’ board sorts through its next course of action.

The suspension was reportedly due to O’Keeffe’s attempt to fire the group’s chief strategy and financial officers over conflicts related to fundraising.

That issue was front and center in an email sent to supporters trying to explain why there is infighting between the board and O’Keefe.

“Breaking the company’s bylaws by unilaterally firing the CFO and co-opting another board member’s vote by saying the board member supported the firing (they didn’t)” was the first issue raised in connection with the audit.

Since it’s already out there, here are my heartfelt words to my staff this morning.

I need to clarify that I have not resigned from Project Veritas, the company I founded 13 years ago. I was fired as CEO and President.

It should also be noted that the audit seeks to investigate whether O’Keefe used “donations for private benefit” and that he violated “employment laws/work safety related to the appropriate treatment of employees.”

Previous reports accused O’Keefe of running a toxic work environment, with Post Millennial reporting on “vague allegations” that he was a “cruel executive who demanded perfection”.

Beg donors to stick with them

The email practically begs donors to stick with them despite internal turmoil and the ousting of their beloved founder, James O’Keefe.

He alleges that O’Keefe did not respond favorably to the olive branch to get him back with the group.

“He was invited, but chose not to engage in dialogue with the board and management following the steps taken so far with the aim of returning to Project Veritas,” he alleged.

Even after his departure, the group claims to be “passionately dedicated to James’ mission” of exposing corruption.

“We hope you can continue to give us a chance. We can’t stress enough how separate the board’s role is from the day-to-day operations here at PV,” he writes. “We’re still grinding and following up on stories of great public importance.”

“In either case, thank you very much for your support in the past and we hope we can earn your trust back if you give us a chance.”

O’Keefe strongly asserted that the forced exit was due to an undercover video showing him losing his cool, destroying an iPad and getting into a physical altercation with a Pfizer executive after being confronted with footage of his statements.

In that video, a Pfizer employee claims that the company he works for wants to ‘mutate’ the COVID virus to make new vaccines and profit from it.

The man later claimed he was just making wild statements to impress the man he thought he was dating.

Project Veritas recently released a video response to Pfizer’s use of force by its security to prevent the group’s journalists from asking questions.

“The mission and our work will continue,” the email to donors reads.
