Fred Nwama will be vying to lead the NDC in the Ayawaso West Wugon constituency contested by his close friend John Dumelo in the 2020 elections.
Confirming his intention, Fred disclosed that he has chosen the forms to contest the NDC primaries. “I have officially picked up forms to contest the Ayawaso West Wugon Parliamentary Primaries,” he said on a political poster.
Sharing the flyer on social media, he wrote “Now it’s official. #Glory be in God’s name“.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is expected to hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023 to elect its flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for the 2024 elections.
As per the schedule outlined by the party on Wednesday, January 18, interested persons are expected to pick up nomination forms from the party’s website or its headquarters.
Submission of nominations will take place between Wednesday, February 22 and Friday, February 24. Submission and filing of forms will take place from Monday, March 20, 2023 to Wednesday.

In the 2020 election, the actor gave NPP’s Lydia Seram Alhassan a tough contest in the constituency but lost to her at the end of the election. The then incumbent MP secured 39,851 votes on the ticket of the NPP, while Dumelo of the NDC came second with 37,778.
