President Joe Biden is under investigation for withholding classified documents from his time in the Obama administration, but now lawmakers have a new question: Did Chinese money influence Biden’s policies?
The question comes as House Oversight lawmakers reportedly found some classified documents in a closet at the Penn Biden Center that show millions of dollars were taken from “anonymous Chinese sources.”

“The Penn Biden Center has served as a source of foreign-sponsored revenue for much of the Biden administration,” House Oversight Chair Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., said in a letter to Mary Magill. Chairman of the group. “Between 2017 and 2019, UPenn paid President Biden more than $900,000, and the university employed at least 10 people at the Penn Biden Center who later became senior Biden administration officials. This level of access and privilege raises questions about who has access to classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center. It is imperative to understand whether any Biden family members or associates have access to classified documents when they are stored at the Penn Biden Center.
Washington Free Beacon Reports Chinese sources have given the University of Pennsylvania $60 million and another $14 million between 2017 and 2020. From 2021 onwards.
As Center Square previously reported, Attorney General Merrick Garland said at a news conference last week that the National Archives reached out to the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General in November of last year. The IG told the DOJ that it was informed by the White House that classified documents were found at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington, DC.
“That office is not authorized to store classified records,” Garland said. “The [DOJ] The prosecutor was advised that those documents were secured in an archive facility. On November 9, the FIB began an assessment in accordance with standard protocols to understand whether classified information was mishandled in violation of federal law.

Garland said Biden’s personal counsel told the DOJ on Dec. 20 that more documents with classified identities were found in Biden’s private garage in Wilmington, Delaware. They came during Biden’s tenure as vice president.
“The FBI went to the location and obtained those documents,” Garland said.
Biden admitted at the news conference that he has classified documents in his garage next to his Corvette. Since then, more classified documents have been found in Biden’s home.
Comer took issue with the role of the Delaware residence in the documents and demanded answers as to why Biden officials continued to search for the documents. Comer called on White House Chief of Staff Ron Klein to release the log of visitors to Biden’s residence.
“It is troubling that classified documents were not properly stored at President Biden’s home for at least six years, raising questions about who may have reviewed or had access to the classified information,” Comer wrote in a letter to Klein. “Additionally, President Biden’s personal attorney and White House staff, who do not have security clearances, continue to enter and search the president’s residence in Wilmington, Delaware for classified documents.”
