When asked what “AR” stood for, Geraldo said “automatic rifle.”
No – the actual meaning of “AR” is Armalite Rifle.

Fox News personality Geraldo Rivera supported President Biden’s push for an “assault weapons” ban and said the “AR” in AR-15 stands for “automatic rifle” on Tuesday’s The Five.
Newsweek Rivera told the co-hosts, “Ladies and gentlemen, I submit to you, there is no legitimate reason … to own an AR-15.”

It’s not a rifle,” it’s a “machine gun,” Rivera said.
“What does AR mean?” Gutfeld asked him.
“An automatic rifle,” Rivera responded, which was ridiculously wrong.
“No, it’s not,” Gutfeld said.
“All I know is AR-15s have no place in American society, except in sporting clubs,” Geraldo insisted.
