Texas Governor Greg Abbott handed out a letter to President Biden after arriving on his first border visit of his presidency, urging him to take action as “America is suffering” under the current illegal immigration crisis.
The scathing letter outlines a series of steps Biden should take to defuse the crisis.
A crisis, Abbott writes, “occurs because you have violated your constitutional obligation to defend the states against aggression…”
In the first sentence of the letter, Abbott declared Biden’s visit “$20 billion too little and two years too late.”
The letter also noted the apparent photo-op nature of the President’s visit. As The Political Insider previously reported, El Paso cleared illegal immigrant encampments and cleaned streets ahead of Biden’s visit.

In a letter to Biden, Gov. Greg Abbott pointed out how the illegal immigration problem was significantly curtailed under the previous administration.
But something has changed in the last two years. What could it be?
“Under your watch, by contrast, America is experiencing the worst illegal immigration in our country’s history,” Abbott insisted.
He addressed the humanitarian and narcotics aspect of the crisis, saying the president’s open-border policies have “emboldened the cartels,” leading to an increase in fentanyl and human trafficking, often costing Texans their lives.

Despite overwhelming video evidence to the contrary, the White House has repeatedly insisted that illegal immigrants are “not just … walking across the border.”

An MSNBC report three weeks ago documented several illegal aliens who “had no interaction with US immigration officials” and said “they walked right by.”

Will a strongly-worded letter change anything?
Just like shipping illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities, I’m not convinced that a ‘strongly worded letter’ approach will do anything to convince Biden to fix the border crisis.
Sure, it’s great to draw attention to the issue, but at this point not all of America is aware of the invasion on the southern border.
Instead of busing them to other American cities, back to Mexico.
Instead of giving a letter to the President, he won’t happen Or can’t Read, the National Guard presence could be increased to protect the border.
Texas has the largest National Guard contingent in the country with 21,000 soldiers. The purpose of the National Guard is to protect the nation.

Abbott issued an executive order last July authorizing the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety to detain aliens who illegally cross the border between ports of entry and return them to the border.
Politico reports that “state police and the National Guard … have zero authority to enforce federal immigration policy” and can only do so through “CBP (at the border) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (in the interior).”
Evidence of such a jurisdictional issue emerged in August when video surfaced of Border Patrol agents opening a gate at Eagle Pass that lets dozens of illegal immigrants into the country after Texas National Guard officers locked it.

Abbott called the video “unbelievable” and insisted that “while securing the Texas border, the federal government is enabling illegal immigration.”
But is that true? With overwhelming numbers, the Texas National Guard could easily close the Texas border and outnumber federal agents who literally open the gates to illegal aliens.
What does the Border Patrol do? Shooting at American soldiers? Suspicious.
Speaking to reporters after Biden’s visit, the Republican governor said, “Nothing comes of this [the administration] Begins to enforce immigration laws already in place in the United States of America.
Anarchy and chaos is the point. This is intentional. It helps Democrats stay in power.
And no letter can change that. There is only energy.
